Monster hunter is one of my all time favorite games. What I like about this game is that you have to hunt, repel, or capture the monsters. There are a lot of monsters in this game. Each time you hunt a monster you get material from it and you can use it to make armor or new weapons. The material can also be used to upgrade equipment. Armors give you skills to help you hunt, gather, and survive. You can use different armors together to make what is called a mix set. A mix set is a set of armor from diferent armors to get diferent skills. Every weapon is different, some have an element, better/worse affinity, better/worse raw attack, abilities, different sharpness, and some give bonus defense. There are "9" elements in the game and they are water, fire, ice, dragon, blast, paralyzes, sleep, poison, and thunder.
Every monster has a weakness and resistance. There are 3 different weapon type the guns(heavy bow gun, light bow gun, and bow), cutting(greatsword, long sword, sword and shield, dual blades, charge blade, insect galaive, launce, gunlance, and switch axe), and a hammer and hunting horn(they cause knockout damage if you hit a monster in the head and if you do that in of you can knock out(KO)the monster). In this game there are items that can help you in a hunt like traps, bombs, flash bombs, sonic bombs, potions, demondrug(boost attack), armorskin(boost defence), oils(for sword and sheild blue let the weapon inflic KO, red boosts the weapons affinity, green make it easier to break and cut off monster parts, and white prevents your attacks from bouncing off the monster), charms(boost attack and defence), antidote(cure poison), cool drinks(lets you be in hot areas like volcano and dunes), and hot drink(lets you be in cold areas like artic ridge).
